Food Pantry and Financial Planning

When was the last time you went through your food pantry and storage?  I'm not talking about raiding the hidden cookies but going can by can?

With all that is going on my family started the process of seeing what we had stored and where we were weak.  It has been a process and we are far from done.  We have had our share of "gross" and "how long has that been there" but the act of taking each item out one by one and seeing if it is still good has been refreshing.  It has also shown that we have a lot of holes in our long term food storage.

And we came to the conclusion that we will never be fully done.  Food will need to be rotated and checked.  But the little ongoing effort will be worth it if we ever need it.

Your financial life is very similar.  From a high level you never stop and from a day to day level it can be a little messy.

At some point you will need to go step by step, can by can, document by document to get a complete financial picture.  And the balance is critical as well.  Getting a clear understanding of how different accounts, products, and positions impact one another may help you see places where you are weak.

Start today, go document by document and start building your full picture.
